I’m Mandy, and I help individuals and families preserve their life stories with care, compassion, and meaning. Every life is filled with memories worth remembering, and capturing them ensures they can be cherished and shared for generations to come.If you’d like to preserve your story, or that of a loved one, you’re in the right place. I’m a writer and storyteller with over 25 years’ experience listening, shaping stories, and bringing meaning to words. My approach is gentle, patient, and conversational, creating a safe space for memories, honesty, and even moments of humour.Based in Thames Ditton, I work exclusively in person, meeting locally in your home or another comfortable setting. These face-to-face conversations allow me to capture the richness of your experiences in a way remote interviews cannot.Together, we explore your stories, milestones, and memories, which I then shape into a beautifully written life story book. How It Works

Step 1 – Introductory Visit
We begin with a relaxed, face-to-face meeting where I’ll walk you through the process and answer any questions. I’ll bring a sample of my memoir writing so you can see the style and approach, and together we’ll talk through what you’d like to capture and what matters most to you.Step 2 – Interview Sessions
This is where your story begins. In relaxed, guided conversations, we’ll explore the chapters of your life you want to capture. Sessions are discreetly recorded for accuracy, letting you speak freely. There’s no pressure or formality — just an unhurried, caring conversation.Step 3 – Writing & Design
I’ll carefully transcribe our conversations and create a clear outline, then provide a sample chapter for your feedback. Once we’re aligned, I’ll draft the full memoir for review, while we prepare your photos and select a book cover.Step 4 – Printing Your Book
When you’re happy with the final text and design, your memoir is professionally laid out and prepared for print. You’ll receive the final version for approval before printing, and once complete, your beautifully finished books will be delivered to you.

Questions Answered

Are the interviews done in person?
All interviews are held face-to-face, usually in your home or another comfortable setting. Think of it as a relaxed, friendly conversation, with me there to guide you gently through each stage so your memories are captured naturally and fully.Can you do remote calls?
Life Chapters is primarily a face-to-face, in-person service. Meeting in person allows for full attention, natural conversation, and a deeper understanding of your story. If you’re unable to meet in person for any reason, we can discuss a remote option so you can still share your memories comfortably.How long are the interview sessions?
Typically one interview session last one hour and 30 minutes. I am happy to do longer or shorter sessions. No clock watching with my sessions!Do I need to prepare anything beforehand?
Before each interview, I’ll share a few prompts to spark memories. No prep is needed, but you’re welcome to jot down stories in advance if you like—it’s entirely up to you.I have photos that I would like to include in the book but need help with digitising them. Would you be able to help?
Yes, I can scan and prepare your photos for inclusion in your memoir. For any images that aren’t your own, please ensure you have permission to use them.How long does it take?
Normally it takes between two to three months to complete the memoir book depending on the breadth of the story.Can I arrange more interviews?
Additional interviews can be arranged at a small additional fee.Can I order more copies of the book?
Yes, additional copies can be ordered at a small additional cost.Will my memoir be kept private?
Absolutely. Your memoir is completely confidential. Only you and the writer will have access to your story unless you choose to share it. We respect your privacy at every step.How does payment work?
There is a 25% deposit, 25% on copy approval, and 50% on delivery of the printed book.
